My professional journey in naval architecture began in 1999 when I graduated and joined North Sails in Denmark. During my six-year tenure, I contributed to high-stakes Grand Prix projects, Volvo Ocean Race campaigns, and America's Cup projects, developing deep expertise in sail design, aerodynamics, and performance optimization while working alongside industry-leading designers and sailors.
I then transitioned to the Danish national towing tank as project manager for three years, diving deep into hydrodynamics and hull optimization. Through extensive testing programs, including comprehensive analysis of Volvo Ocean Race and America's Cup boats, I gained invaluable hands-on experience with physical testing and real-world hull behavior.
My next challenge was establishing the CFD department at a naval consultancy. Building on prior CFD experience at Force Technology, I mastered complex simulation techniques and developed advanced CFD capabilities from the ground up, transforming into a specialized CFD engineer capable of providing detailed performance predictions and optimization recommendations.
Force Technology then recruited me as a senior CFD specialist, where I tackled the maritime industry's most challenging cases: simulating roll damping tanks, designing interceptor systems, analyzing offshore structure slamming forces, and conducting self-propulsion studies. These projects pushed CFD analysis boundaries and required innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
After four rewarding years, I established C Performance as an independent consultancy. My desire to work intimately with the yachting industry had been growing, and I recognized an opportunity to combine my comprehensive background in sail design, physical testing, and advanced CFD analysis to serve the sailing world's specialized needs.
