Having been part of the creation of the new XR41 for X-Yachts, it is a great relief to see the boat perform on the water and fully deliver on expectations by winning the World Championship in the ORC B class. And not only winning—claiming 1st, 2nd, and 4th place in the final standings—is a clear statement of what we have achieved with this design....

The owners of Mini maxi approached C Performance with a unique challenge: optimizing their keel's weight distribution while exploring opportunities for advanced hydrodynamic improvements. This project combined structural engineering analysis with cutting-edge foil design technology to deliver comprehensive performance enhancements.

The owners of a 45 feet race boat, approached C Performance seeking to optimize their sail inventory strategy across both IRC and ORC rating systems. This complex project required balancing performance gains against rating penalties while considering the unique challenges of modern handicap racing.

The owners of a magnificent 100+ foot super yacht, approached C Performance seeking to maximize their yacht's competitive potential. Our comprehensive analysis uncovered numerous optimization opportunities across multiple areas of the yacht's configuration, demonstrating how systematic evaluation can reveal significant rating improvements.

I would highly recommend the services of C Performance for designing keels, rudders, conducting CFD analysis on hull shapes and optimising your boat for either the ORC or IRC rules. Their expertise and focus on optimizing designs for ORC and IRC rules means C Performance consistently delivers high-performance solutions tailored to your needs. Their knowledge of the latest technologies and dedication to staying informed about rule changes makes them a top choice if you seek a competitive edge in your racing.

I personally have been using C Performance for several projects ranging from 40-110 ft, as they consistently prove an exceptional combination of design knowledge, engineering and customer service. Their commitment to producing efficient and effective solutions, along with their passion for the sport, is evident in their track record. A good example is the Xr41, which just won the ORC worlds.

I was closely involved during the design stages and all my suggestions and questions were answered quickly with numbers and facts!

After years of sailing the X-41, I knew X-Yachts well, but the XR 41 is in a different league. I ordered this boat before it even hit the water because I had confidence in the design – and it delivered beyond my hopes.
The boat's downwind performance is phenomenal. Once we hit 8 m/s and start surfing, it transforms into a rocket. In our final World Championship race, we were pushed down to 16th place upwind after aggressive tactics from competitors. But downwind? We surfed past 12 boats in 10 m/s winds. That's the weapon this boat becomes when reaching and running.
What impressed me most was how quickly we dialed in the performance. We took delivery on June 19th, and seven weeks later we were on the World Championship podium with silver medals. The boat is that intuitive and fast right out of the box.
For any serious ORC racer, the XR 41 is a game-changer. The balance between upwind and downwind performance – with that crucial edge on the runs – makes this the perfect platform for modern ORC racing.
Next year we're targeting European Championship gold in Latvia. With the XR 41 Dixi 5, I'm confident we'll take that next step.

"Looks like you designed a downwind beast!"

After six years of sailing the X-41 and celebrating many remarkable successes, the move to the XR-41 became a necessary step. Only upwind, in winds below 8 knots, can the old X-41 keep pace with the new model.

Once the sheets are eased, the XR-41 sails away from the competition in any wind conditions. The acceleration is particularly impressive and outstanding for a seven-ton yacht.

The rudder response is precise and gives the confidence to push the boat right to the limits. Ultimately, it was the downwind performance that made the decisive difference + it also provides plenty of fun for the crew.
